Every metal fabrication project is unique and should be treated as such. That being said, there are some basic steps that are the same no matter what type of metal fabrication project you’re dealing with. In this article, we are going to outline the basic steps of a given metal fabrication project.
Planning & Designing
The first step, no matter what type of metal fabrication project you’re working on, is planning and design. This involves working with a metal fabricator to develop a strategic plan for your project, along with the design of the specific parts. In many ways, this is the most important step because it will inform the rest of the process. As a result, it’s important not to skip this stage.
Cutting & Bending
Once you’ve got a plan in place, the next step is to start cutting and bending the materials for your product. Cutting is typically done with machine-guided lasers or high-temperature blow torch. Bending is typically accomplished with a press brakes machine (a common tool used in most metal fabrication projects).
Assembly & Packaging
After all the individual parts have been cut and bent to their exact specifications, it’s time to assemble them into the finished product. Once assembled, the product will be packaged and prepared for fulfillment.
