Getting started is often the most difficult part of a metal fabrication project. But as long as you know what to expect going in, everything should run smoothly. In this article, we are going to discuss how to start a metal fabrication project, and walk through a general outline of our fabrication process at Data Metalcraft.
Meeting & Planning
The first step in any metal fabrication project is an initial meeting. This meeting, between the client and a project manager, will help set the stage for the upcoming project. You’ll discuss the overall scope and needs of the project, as well as budget and any additional concerns. It’s essential to be as detailed as possible at this stage to avoid any confusion or frustration once the project begins.
Initial Research
Once the planning meeting has concluded, the project manager takes the information gathered and does some research on the specifics of the project. This often involves meeting with the other members of the fabrication team and ironing out details. Once this research is complete, the project manager will put together a quote for the client.
Getting Started
If the provided quote is good and the client doesn’t have any additional changes, then you’re ready to move forward with the project!
