3 Types of Press Brakes
There are three basic types of press brakes that can be used in a metal fabrication project. They are:
- Hydraulic
- Mechanical
- Pneumatic
The essential difference between these three types comes down to the trigger mechanisms. Mechanical press brakes use a spring-loaded trigger. Pneumatic brakes use an air trigger. When the triggers are pressed on these brakes, the machine begins a cycle. A hydraulic brake can be halted any time during its stroke – giving operators greater control over the process.
